Virta Health Adds $45M For Diabetes Treatment
San Francisco-based Virta Health, a company developing what it says is a way to reverse type 2 diabetes and other chronic metabolic diseases, has raised $45M in a Series B funding. The funding came from Venrock, Obvious Ventures, Creandum, Caffeinated Capital, and Max Levchin's SciFi VC plus new investors Founders Fund and Playground Global. Virta Health says it has a "clinically-proven" treatment to reverse type 2 diabetes and other chronic metabolic diseases without the use of medications or surgery.
