YugaByte Gets $16M For Cloud Database

YugaByte
, which develops cloud-based, distributed database software, has raised $16M in a funding round, the company said on Tuesday. The funding was co-led by Dell Technologies Capital, and also included Lightspeed Venture Partners. YugaByte says its database works with both NoSQL and SQL. Kannan Muthukkaruppan is Co-Founder and CEO of YugaByte, and his co-founders are Karthik Ranganathan and Mikhail Bautin. All three worked on Facebook's NoSQL platform, according to the company.
