Adobe Buys Marketo For $4.75 Billion
Adobe
announced on Thursday afternoon that it has acquired San Mateo-based
Marketo
, which develops marketing software, in a deal worth $4.75 billion. The deal is expected to close in Q4. Adobe said it will add Marketo to its Adobe Experience Cloud. In a post, Marketo said the acquisition will accelerate its product roadmap and go-to-market execution. Marketo was owned by private equity investor Vista Equity Partners, which acquired Marketo in August of 2016. Vista Equity paid $1.79 billion for Marketo.
