Twilio Acquires Sendgrid For $2 Billion

said Monday afternoon that it has acquired
Sendgrid
, in a deal worth $2 billion in stock, the companies announced late Monday afternoon. Sendgrid offers up API-based email services, used by many Internet, e-commerce, on-demand and other service providers to send emails to their customers. Twilio said it would pay 0.485 shares of Twilio Class A common stock for each share of SendGrid common stock, or approximately $36.92 per share based on today's closing prices. Sendgrid is headquartered in Boulder, Colorado.
