Unity Technologies Buys Digital Monarch Media

said on Tuesday that it has acquired
Digital Monarch Media
, a Canadian company which uses Unity to build "virtual cinematography" for feature films. Financial details of teh buy were not announced. According to Unity, Digital Monarch Media's technology has been used for such films as Ready Player One and Blade Runner 2049. The co-founders of Digital Monarch Media (DMM), Wes Potter and Habib Zargarpour, wil join Unity as part of its dedicated film group, along with the rest of DMM's team. DMM was founded in 2014.
