View, which develops self dimming windows which can be adjusted to change light levels and control heat and glare in buildings, has raised a massive, $1.1 billion funding round, the company said this morning. The funding came from SoftBank Vision Fund. The investment comes on top of an earlier $800M in investments from such investors as Corning, TIAA, Madrone Capital Partners, and others. View, which is led by Dr. Rao Mulpuri, develops glass where the amount of light transmitted can be electronically adjusted, without need for curtains or blinds.
