Airbnb Buys HotelTonight
San Francisco-based Airbnb said Thursday that it will acquire hotel booking app HotelTonight. Financial terms of the buy were not announced. HotelTonight was venture backed by Accel Partners, Battery Ventures, First Round Capital, Coatue Management, Forerunner Ventures, as well as such angels as Rich Barton, Erik Blachford, Brad Gerstner, and Hugh Crean. The firm said that HotelTonight will continue to operate its website and app as an independent business.
