San Francisco-based dating app developer Zoosk has been acquired by dating giant Spark Networks, the two companies said late Thursday. Spark said it will pay $255M in a combination of cash and stock for Zoosk, split between $150M in stock (in American Depository Shares) and $95M in cash at closing, plus $10M in a deferred cash payment in December of 2020. Spark said it will more than double in size as a result of the acquisition. Spark Networks operates such dating sites as SilverSingles, Christian Mingle, Jdate, Jswipe, and other brands.
