    KAYAK Acquired By Priceline For $1.8 Billion
    KAYAK, the online search engine, has been acquired by competitor Priceline in a $1.8 billion deal. Priceline said it would pay $40 per share of newly-public KAYAK in its deal, which is a combination of stock and cash. KAYAK had its IPO only five months ago, and had been backed by General Catalyst Partners, Sequoia, Accel Partners, and Oak Investment Partners.

    Google Ventures Ups Funding To $300M Annually
    Google is boosting the amount of funding for its venture capital arm to $300M a year, according to the firm, which says its plans to invest $1.5 billion into startups over the next five years.     Oracle Buys Instantis
    Redwood Shores-based Oracle announced this morning that it is acquiring Instantis, a developer of cloud-based portfolio management (PPM) products. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Instantis was venture backed by U.S. Venture Partners, JK&B Capital, Goldman Sachs, and angel Kanwal Rekhi. The firm had raised more than $30M in funding.     Munchery Gets $4M For Food Delivery
    San Francisco-based Munchery said today that it has raised $4M in a Series A funding. The round was led by Munchery offers up a service which provides personalized meals from local chefs, which are delivered to users for preparation and heating at home. The company said the investment will go towards expanding its service beyond the San Francisco Bay Area and into Berkeley, Oakland, LA, Seattle, and New York City.

    Square Wallet Now Accepted At Starbucks
    Square's mobile payment application, Square Wallet, is now accepted at Starbucks stores across the U.S., as the partnership between the two companies kicks into gear. Starbucks said that over 7,000 Starbucks stores across its U.S. company-operated locations now accepts Square Wallet, Square's mobile payment app. The move is part of an investment and strategic partnership the two companies announced in Augu (More info...)
