    Proterra Gets $140M
    Burlingame, California-based Proterra, which develops electric buses and transportation technology, said this morning that it has raised $140M in an equity funding round.     Facebook's Oculus Buys The Eye Tribe
    Copenhagen-based The Eye Tribe, a 16-person startup developing eye tracking software, has been acquired by Facebook, via its Oculus VR subsidiary. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. The Eye Tribe's technology was originally developed at the IT University of Copenhagen.

    AppDynamics Files For $100M IPO
    San Francisco-based AppDynamics, which develops enterprise IT monitoring software, has filed for an IPO, and is looking to raise up to $100M on the NASDAQ Global Select Market as APPD, the company said in a filing over the holidays. The IPO is being underwritten by Morgan Stanley, Goldman, Sachs & Co., J.P. Morgan, Barclays, UBS Investment Bank, Wells Fargo Securities, William Blair, and JMP Securities.     CaptainU Acquired By Blue Star Sports
    San Francisco- and Denver-based CaptainU, a developer of athletic development and recruiting software for athletes, clubs, events, and colleges, has been acquired by sports software company Blue Star Sports.
