    Twist Bioscience Adds $27M
    San Francisco-based DNA synthesis startup Twist Bioscience announced this morning that it has added $27M more in new funding, on top of the $33M it raised in March, bringing its total funding round to $60M. The company said the new funding came from Biomatics Capital, plus Reinet Fund S.C.A., F.I.S., NFT Investment Limited, KANGMEI Group, Bay City Capital GF Xinde Life Science Investment Fund, 3W Partners Capital and Ditch Plains Capital Management L (More info...)

    Fortanix Finds $8M For Application Encryption Technology
    Menlo Park-based Fortanix announced this morning that it has raised $8M in a Series A funding, to go towards its application encryption technology, used for encrypting and handling data in applications while they are running on untrusted operating systems. The funding came from Foundation Capital and NeoTribe. According to Fortanix, its software protects applications and data during computation.     AEye Sees $16M For AI Vision Systems
    Pleasanton-based AEye, a developer of robotic vision software aimed at autonomous vehicles and other industries, has raised $16M in a Series A funding. The funding came from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Airbus Ventures, Intel Capital, Tyche Partners and others. AEye, led by Luis Dussan, says it is developing advanced vision systems which use solid state LiDAR and computer vision software, designed to enable autonomous vehicles.
