    Personal Capital Adds $40M
    Redwood City-based Personal Capital has raised another $40M as part of a Series E funding round. The funding came from IGM, which is a significant prior investor in the company. Personal Capital had announced $25M in the Series E funding in December, also from IGM. Personal Capital provides software-driven, personal wealth management services to consumers.

    Primary Data Raises $40M
    Los Altos- and Salt Lake City, Utah-based Primary Data, a developer of enterprise software used for managing data storage, has raised $40M in a second round of funding, the company announced on Wednesday. Primary Data's Chief Scientist is former Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. The funding was split between a $40M, equity funding from Pelion Venture Partners, Accel, Battery Ventures, and others, plus a $20M line of credit.

    Pixelworks Buys ViXS Systems
    San Jose-based visual processing software developer Pixelworks said on Wednesday that it has completed its acquisition of Canadian media processing, encoding, and transcoding software developer ViXS Systems. The deal had originally been announced on May 18th. The all-stock deal is worth approximately $17.7M.

    Cisco Completes Viptela Buy
    San Jose-based Cisco has completed its acquisition of software defined, wide-area-network (SD-WAN) developer Viptela, Cisco said this week. The deal, which was originally announced in May, was worth $610M in cash. Viptela was also based in San Jose. Cisco said the deal will help it expand its SD-WAN portfolio. Viptela becomes part of Cisco's Enterprise Routing team, which is part of Cisco's Networking and Secur (More info...)
