PRENAV Takes Flight With $6.5M In Funding
San Carlos-based PRENAV, a developer of automated, commercial drone technology centered around computer vision algorithms, has raised $6.5M in a seed funding, according to the company. The funding was led by Crosslink Capital, and also included Haystack, Liquid 2 Ventures, and WI Harper Group, along with existing investors Pejman Mar Ventures, Toivo Annus, and others. PRENAV, led by Nathan Schuett, says it is developing precision navigation software for drones which can handle complicated or GPS-denied environments, initially aimed at infrastructure inspection of such things as cell phone towers, wind turbines, buildings and rooftops, flare stacks and oil tankers.
