StarMaker Gets $6.5M For Music Apps, Contests
San Francisco-based StarMaker, which devel mobile apps which helps amateur music talent create professional videos, earn money, and help build their following, annoucned Wednesday that it has raised $5.5M in a Series B funding. The funding was led by Raine Ventures, and also included Crosscut Ventures, Three Bridges Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures, iGlobe Partners, GREE International, Allen DeBevoise of Machinima and Joe Perez of Tastemade. StarMaker offers up its tools via a mobile app, and also has partnerships with "American Idol" and "The Voice" around singing contests for that amateur musical talent. More information »
