Unitive Lands $7.5M To Reduce Bias In Hiring

In a timely launch for Silicon Valley, which has been struggling with perceived racial and gender bias in hiring, Woodside, California-based Unitive announced today that it has raised $7.5M in a Series A funding, to go towards helping to eliminate racial and other bias in hiring practices. The company--whose software helps shuffle resumes to eliminate unconscious bias of hiring managers from names of potential recruits--received the funding from Ignition Partners, along with Kapor Capital, Webb Investment Network, Floodgate and Correlation Ventures. The company says its tools help guide hiring managers through a rigorous, impartial and expedited "best fit" hiring decision process, which helps remove unconscious bias in hiring decisions. Unitive is led by Laura Mather.
