Townsquared Gathers $5.26M

San Francisco-based Townsquared, a startup developing an online community for small businesses, has raised $5.26M in a funding round. The funding came from Floodgate and August Capital. According to Townsquared, it is developing a mobile application which lets small businesses share expertise and best practices, receive neighborhood news, organize local promotions and events, and also share crime and safety alerts. The company's service specifically focuses on connecting small businesses in a local community. More information »
