Ubiquity6 Snags $27M

San Francisco-based Ubiquity6, a developer of augmented reality software, said today that it has raised $27M in a Series B funding. The funding was led by Benchmark and Index Ventures. Ubiquity6 says it is creating a way to offer up "massively multiplayer" augmented reality (AR) experiences to people. The company's first public beta was recently run at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA). Benchmark's Mitch Lasky joins the company's board with the funding.
