Vacatia.com Books $5M For Online Timeshare Marketplace

San Francisco-based Vacation Listing Service said today that it has raised $5M, to help launch its online consumer marketplace for timeshares, Vacatia. According to Vacation Listing Service (VLS), the seed fnding came from such angels as Spencer Rascoff (Zillow); Erik Blachford (Expedia); Greg Waldorf, (Trulia, eHarmony); Thomas Byrne(Loopnet); Robert Spottswood (Hyatt Vacation Ownership); Raymond L. "Rip" Gellein, Jr., (Vistana Resorts, Starwood Vacation Ownership); Barry Sternlicht and Steve Hankin of Starwood Capital, Egon Durban of Silver Lake, Douglas Dillard, Jr. of Standard Pacific Capital and Gene Frantz of Google Capital. Venture capital firms Maveron, Bee Partners, Peterson Ventures and Meyer Ventures also invested in the round.
