Wheelz Pulls Up To $13.7M

Palo Alto-based Wheelz, the operator of a peer-to-peer car sharing company focused on college campuses, has raised $13.7M in a funding round. The firm said the Series A round was led by Zipcar, and also included Fontinalis Partners. Wheelz said that it has added Mark Schulz, founding partner at Fontinalis and former president of International Operations at Ford Motor Company, to its board with the funding, along with Jim Freer, formerly vice chairman of Ernst & Young. Wheelz is applying to peer-to-peer car lending concept--where anyone can let others rent their personal vehicles--specifically on college campuses. More information »
