Xoomsys Gets $8M
Cupertino-based Xoomsys, a company developing distributed processing software used for semiconductor design, said today it has raised $8M in a second round of funding. The funding came from DAG Ventures, and also included prior investors Benchmark Capital and Morgenthaler ventures. Xoomsys develops software that allows IC designers to distribute the processing of SPICE simulations--software used to model the behavior of integrated circuits at the nanometer level. SPICE is used to analyze and simulate electromagnetic interference (EMI), an increasing issue as geometries for semiconductors shrink. Xoomsys's products leverage Linux-based systems and multi-core CPUs for concurrent simulation of computationally intensive SPICE models. More information »
