ZEPL Gets $4.1M For Data Analytics

San Francisco-based ZEPL announced on Thursday that it has raised $4.1M in a Series A funding round. The funding was led by Vertex Ventures, and also included Translink Capital, Specialized Types, and Big Basin Capital. In Sik Rhee of Vertex Ventures joins the company's board with the funding. ZEPL is behind the Apache Zeppelin open source project, which offers up a single interface to manipulate and process data in Spark, Cassandra, MongoDB, Elastic Search, Oracle, and MySQL.
