LSI Logic Acquires Metta Technology
Milpitas-based LSI Logic said last night that it has acquired a Pune, India-based provider of semiconductors, Metta Technology. LSI said it will pay approximately $7M in cash for the firm, which develops multimedia system-on-chip technology. LSI said that it would use the acquisition for its next generation digital video and edutainment products. Metta's 60 employees will join LSI's Consumer Products Group.
