NVIDIA Buys PortalPlayer
Santa Clara-based NVIDIA has acquired San Jose-based PortalPlayer, in a deal worth approximately $357M. PortalPlayer is a supplier of semiconductors, firmware, and software for the personal media player industry. The deal is worth $13.50 per share of each outstanding share of PortalPlayer common stock. NVIDIA was advised by Goldman, Sachs & Co.; Cowen and Company served as financial advisor to PortalPlayer.
