BitTorrent Buys uTorrent
San Francisco-based peer-to-peer content delivery firm BitTorrent said today that it has acquired uTorrent, a lightweight implementation of the BitTorrent protocol. Financial terms were not disclosed. BitTorrent said it will combine uTorrent's user interface and high performance design with its networking protocol expertise. BitTorrent develops a peer-to-peer protocol. BitTorrent has been applying its peer to peer networking protocols and experience to content delivery for Hollywood.
