Oplink To Acquire Optical Communication Products
Fremont-based Oplink Communications said today it is in a deal to acquire the majorit interest in Optical Communications Products. Oplink said that it has signed a definitive agreement with Furakawa Electric Co., Ltd. to acquire OCP, which is a designer and manufacturer of fiber optical communications components. The deal is worth $84M in cash plus 857,258 shares of Oplink common stock. The deal is worth approximately $99M. Optical Communication Products is based in Woodland Hills, California.
