Synopsys Buys Optical Research Associates
Mountain View-based Synoposys, the developer semiconductor design software, said Thursday that it has acquired Optical Research Associates, a developer of optical design software and optical engineering services. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Synopsys said the acquisition would bolster its offerings in the optical design and analysis area, particularly in software used for designing solid state lighting, semicondcutor lithography equipment, and cameras. Optical Research Associates was based in Pasadena, California.
