Danal Gets $9.5M For Mobile Payments Firm
San Jose-based Danal, Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of South Korean firm Danal Co., Ltd. said Thursday that it has received $9.5M in a venture capital funding led by Morgenthaler Ventures. The firm's parent company also participated. Danal said the funding will go to expanding its team, and towards commercializing its mobile payment service in the U.S.. Danal's payment services are already in use in South Korea, where the firm says more than 16,000 online merchants already offer its mobile services to their customers.
