MDV Stakes Biofuel Venture
Menlo Park-based MDV-Mohr Davidow Ventures has staked a new biodiesel production firm, Catilin, based in Ames Iowa. Catilin said Monday that MDV financed the firm's $3M Series A financing, which will be used for a pilot production facility, research, and to build out its team. The investment is the first biodiesel investment for MDV, which also holds stakes in solar firms Energy Innovations and NanoSolar, cellulosic ethanol firm ZeaChem, as well as energy-related companies Jadoo Power, Recurrent Energy, and Gordon Murray Design. MDV's Executive-in-Residence, Larry Lenhart, will serve as CEO of the firm.
