Mountain View-based Google announced early this morning that it has expanded the firm's Google Earth software that will allow users to view the sky as seen from planet Earth. The new astronomy feature will allow users to view constellations, monitor lunar positions and moon phases, and also overlays high resolution images into the display. According to Google, the new feature of its Google Earth software will include 100 million individual stars, and 200 million galaxies, and incorporates imagery from the Hubble Space Telescope.
