Santa Clara-based Applied Materials said Tuesday afternoon that the firm has agreed to purchase certain assets from BOC Edwards' Kachina semiconductor equipment parts cleaning and refurbishment business. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Kachina provides services to the semiconductor industry, and operates facilities in Austin, Texas, Phoenix, Arizona, and Hillsboro, Oregon. According to AMAT the transaction is expected to close in 30 days. Kachina also operates parts cleaning services facilities in Israel, Ireland and the state of Virginia.
