AMAT Buys Brooks Software
Santa Clara-based Applied Materials has purchased Brooks Software, a provider of factory management and control software, for $125M in cash. Brooks Software is a division of Brooks Automation. Brooks Software's products are used by semiconductor and flat panel display industry manufacturers to manage their fab production operations.
