Santa Rosa-based Direct Flow Medical has raised $27M in a Series B funding, the firm said earlier in the week. Direct Flow said that the round was co-led by Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation and Foundation Medical Partners, and also included new investors VantagePoint Venture Partners and ePlanet. Existing investors EDF Ventures, New Leaf Venture Partners, and Spray Venture Partners also participated. Direct Flow Medical is developing minimally invasive medical device implants to treat patients with heart valve disease. The round brings the company's total raise to $35.45M, including a Series A in September of 2005.
