San Francisco-based Dolby Laboratories said last week that it is in a definitive agreement to acquire Coding Technologies AB, a Stockholm, Sweden-based maker of audio compression technologies. Dolby said it paid approximately $250M net of cash for the firm. Coding Technologies AB's audio compression technology is used for mobile, digital broadcast, and the Internet. The firm was founded in 1997, and has offices in Sweden, Germany, China, and the US.
