SiRF Spins Off Swedish Operations
San Jose-based SiRF Technology Holdings, Inc. said this morning that it has spun off its Swedish operations into a new, independent firm. According to SiRF, it has spun off its Stockholm operations into a new company called Kisel Microelectronics. The new firm will be majority owned by its management and employees, with SiRF holding 15 percent of Kisel. The new firm will provider RF system and IC design services. SiRF acquired its Swedish operations -- then also known as Kisel Microelectronics -- in 2005.
