Gaia Online Gets Investment From Time Warner
San Jose-based Gaia Online, an operator of an online virtual world for teenagers, said today that the firm has received a strategic investment from Time Warner. The investment was part of the firm's Series B funding round. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed. The investment follows a partnership between the two firms, where Warner Bros. will make versions of the firm's films available in Gaia's "virtual cinemas." Gaia has previously received funding from Benchmark Capital, DAG Ventures, Redpoint Ventures and Sony Pictures.
