NComputing Lands $28M
Redwood City-based NComputing, a provider of desktop virtualization software and hardware, said Monday that it has raised $28M in a Series B funding round. The funding came from Menlo Ventures, along with Scale Venture Partners and Korean firm Daehong Technew Corporation. NComputing develops systems used in developing countries and schools for creating affordable "virtual desktop" systems using Linux servers and network terminals. The firm said the funding will be used to expand sales and operations. H. Dubose Montgomery of Menlo Ventures joins the firm's board as part of the funding.
