San Francisco-based Metaweb Technologies said Tuesday that it has received $42.5M as part of a Series B investment. metaweb, which develops software infrastructure for sharing data on the web, said the round was led by Goldman Sachs, and also included DAG Ventures and prior investors Benchmark Capital, Omidyar Network, and Millenium Technology Ventures. Metaweb is the firm behind Freebase.com, an online shared database service which allows users to store their data online.
