Palo Alto-based Danger, the firm behind the popular Sidekick mobile device, has been acquired by Microsoft. Microsoft did not disclose financial details of the deal. Danger was venture backed by Mobius Venture Capital, Redpoint Ventures, SoftBank Capital, T-Mobile, Motorola, Sharp, VSP Capital, Meritech Capital Partners, Institutional Venture Partners, Adams Street Partners, Diamondhead Ventures, and Orange Ventures. The firm's acquisition follows an IPO filing in December.
