Sunnyvale-based Yahoo said today that it has agreed to acquire Maven Networks, a provider of online video software, for approximately $160M. Maven Networks develops video syndication, management, and advertising software for video, and is being used by Fox News, Sony BMG, CBS Sports, and others to manage their online videos. Maven has become a wholly owned subsidiary of Yahoo, and Yahoo has established Cambridge, Mass. operations. Maven was venture backed by Accel Partners, General Catalyst Partners, and Prism Venture Partners.
