Cadence Buys Chip Estimate
San Jose-based Cadence Design Systems said Tuesday that it has acquired Cupertino-based Chip Estimate Corporation, a provider of IC planning and IP technology. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Chip Estimate's products are used to predict die size, yield, power consumption, and other characteristics of semiconductor designs. The firm was founded in 2003.
