IBM and Linden Lab said today that the two companies are working together to create enterprise products for the Second Life platform. According to the two companies, they will combine IBM's BladeCenter product with Second Life's content creation tools, allowing Second Life's virtual environment to be deployed behind corporate firewalls. The firms said that it is piloting a way for IBM employees to explore their own, private virtual world which is seamlessly connected to Second Life. The firms did not say when or if the technology would be made available to other corporations.
