Wunderground Launches Flood Alert Services
San Francisco-based Weather Underground, a provider of online weather information, said Monday that the firm has rolled out a new product targeting flood alerts. According to the firm, it will begin showing flood alerts for rivers across the United States. The site said the new service--which is available through the firm's interactive mapping feature, WunderMap--uses data from the USGS to plot river data and forecasts on its interactive map. The company said it hopes the availability of the service will helps communities in the US threated by flooding.
