Aster Data Takes $12M
Redwood City-based Aster Data Systems, which develops data warehousing tools, announced today that it has raised $12M in a funding round led by JAFCO Ventures. Prior investors Sequoia Capital, Cambrian Ventures, and First Round Capital also participated in the funding. Aster Data Systems develops clustered databases used for data warehousing and analytics. According to the firm, Joe Horowitz of JAFCO Ventures joins the firm's board along with the funding. The new funding brings the company's total raised to $22M.
