Maxim Founder Dies
Sunnyvale-based Maxim Integrated Products said Monday that the firm's founder and former CEO, Jack Gifford, passed away Sunday evening. Gifford founded Maxim in 1983, and had previously worked at Intersil, Advanced Micro Devices, and Fairchild. Gifford served as CEO of the company until he retired in 2007. Maxim Integrated Products is a supplier of analog and mixed signal semiconductors, and had over $2 billion in revenues in fiscal 2008.
