AMD Names Claflin Chairman, Adds Mubadala COO To Board
Sunnyvale-based AMD said late Monday that it has added Bruce Claflin to the firm's board of directors, and appointed Waleed Al Mokarrab, COO of Mubadala Development Company, to its board of directors. Mubadala is the investment firm which recently put up the capital to spin out AMD's foundry operations into a new firm, The Foundry Company. According to AMD, Claflin replaces Hector Ruiz, who has retired from AMD's board to become chairman of spinout The Foundry Company. Claflin has been on AMD's board since August of 2003.
