Cupertino-based Swoopo, an online auction site focused on combining entertainment with online auctions, said Thursday that it has raised a new round of funding. Amount of the funding was not disclosed. According to Swoopo, August Capital joined prior investor Wellington Partners in the funding round. Swoopo's auction site charges users to bid on items, resetting the bid timer every time a user makes a bid, making the bidding more interactive than site such as eBay.
