Founders Fund Raises Dedicated SpaceX Fund
San Francisco-based Founder Fund, the venture capital firm of Peter Thiel, Ken Howery, and other PayPal co-founders, has raised $3.4M in a fund called the Founders Fund SpaceX Fund, LP. The fund was disclosed in a regulatory filing by the firm. According to the filing, Luke Nosek, Peter Thiel, Ken Howery, and Sean Parker are all directors of the new fund. The first funding in the fund was on April 30th, and according to the filing there is no specific target size for the fund, which appears--based solely on the name--specifically targeted at investments in Elon Musk's spaceflight firm, SpaceX.
