San Francisco-based online advertising provider Kontera said today that it has raised $15.5M in a new round of financing. According to the firm, the new round was led by Sequoia Capital, and also included Tenaya Capital and Carmel Ventures. Kontera operates an online advertising network which links keywords within web pages to advertising, which it calls "In-Text advertising". The firm said its network is now reaching more than 100 million monthly unique users; Sequoia's Mike Moritz said in a statement that the funding will go to expand Kontera's "thriving and profitable" business. The funding will bring the firm's total capital raised to around $32.8M across three rounds of funding.
