Cisco,
EMC, and
VMware said today that they have created a new effort to accelerate virtualization and private cloud infrastructure, including a joint venture to provide support for private cloud efforts. According to the three, the effort--the Virtual Computing Environment coalition--is focused on accelerating private cloud computing. As part of the effort, Cisco and EMC said they have formed a joint venture,
Acadia, which will help accelerate customer build out of private cloud infrastructure. Cisco and EMC led the investment in Acadia, which also included investments from VMware and Intel.
