Report: Record Quarter for IPOs
Dow Jones VentureSource is reporting today that the number of IPOs during Q1 beat the total number of IPOs for all of 2009. According to Dow Jones VentureSource, eight U.S. venture backed companies raised $711M in initial public offerings during the quarter, compared to only eight IPOs for all of 2009. The quarter was the most active for venture-backed companies since Q4 of 2007. Dow Jones reported that it took a median of 10.4 years, and $156M in venture capital for the firms which went IPO in Q1 to get to liquidity.
